DANGEROUS Weather On The Way!

From KWQC TV-6...

KWQC | Davenport | KWQC - Weather

A First Alert Day is in effect from noon today through noon Saturday for dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills.  An arctic front will race through the area this morning and will be followed by clearing skies and strong NW winds.  This will send temps from the upper teens and low 20s by midday to below zero after 6PM.  We will bottom out in the teens below zero by tomorrow morning with wind chills near -30°!  The strong NW winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow during this evening’s commute as well.  The bitterly cold wind chills will stick around at least into Saturday morning. With temps this cold frost bite can set in 30 minutes or less, so please avoid any extended outdoor time these next few days.  If the cold wasn’t enough, light snow is likely Friday with a  fluffy/drifty 1” of accumulation is possible, though it will hard to measure since it will blow all over the place.  A stronger system will arrive early next week with the potential for move shovel worthy snow.

TODAY: Becoming sunny and windy. 19°↓ Winds: NW 20-30 mph.

TONIGHT: Clear and dangerously cold.  Low -12° (feels like near -30°).  Winds: NW 15-25 mph.

TOMORROW: Sunny. High 6°.
