RECAP: Packers Beat The Eagles, Aaron Rodgers Reached Another Milestone

Six quarterbacks in NFL history had thrown 400 touchdown passes before Aaron Rodgers reached that milestone in yesterday’s 30-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

But none of them did it as quickly as Rodgers—not Drew Brees, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Not Dan Marino, Brett Favre or Philip Rivers.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback reached 400 touchdown passes for his career in his 193rd regular-season game. That's 12 fewer games than Brees, who was previously the fastest to 400.

On his milestone day, Rodgers finished 25-of-34 passing for 295 yards with these three TD’s and zero interceptions in a win that pushed the Packers to 9-3, one game behind the Saints in the race for the top NFC playoff seed.

Rodgers, who turned 37 on Wednesday, began the day needing three touchdown passes to reach 400 and did exactly that—giving him 36 for the year and his fifth season with at least 35 touchdowns—the most such seasons in NFL history. He had been tied with Brady, Brees and Manning at four each.

And while he was throwing his 400th—another young man was throwing his first. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Hurts came in after Carson Wentz got himself benched midway through the third quarter competing just six passes for 79 yards while taking four sacks.

And don’t expect to see him next week after Hurts nearly sparked a comeback going 5-of-12 for 109 yards and rushing five times for 29 yards while putting up 13 points in the 4thquarter—which will only intensify the quarterback debate raging in Philadelphia.

The Packers face the Lions on Sunday at 3:25pm. Packers Preview gets underway at 1pm on Fox Sports Radio 1230, followed by the kick off with Wayne and Larry.
