"Words can't even explain it right now. I'm so happy," Giersdorf said after his win. "Everything I've done, the grind, it's all paid off. It's just insane."

Harrison "Psalm" Chang came in second place with 33 points, while a player who goes by the name Epikwhale finished in third place with 32 points. They took home $1.8 million and $1.2 million, respectively.

Over 40 million people entered the Fortnite World Cup and competed against each other in a series of online competitions. After ten weeks, the field was narrowed down to the 100 best players in the world.

Every player who participated took home at least $50,000 and over $30 million in prize money was awarded during the three-day event. The World Cup also included a duos tournament, a competition between professional players and celebrities, and a creative trials team square-off.
