Aaron Rodgers knows the end of his Packers career is near

Entering his 16th year with Green Bay, a number met by past Packers great quarterbacks Bart Starr and Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers senses his time in green and gold may be drawing to a close.

Speaking on The Ringer's podcast, 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt, Aaron Rodgers says he expects to finish his career somewhere other than Green Bay in light of the team's decision to trade up and draft Jordan Love.

"They traded up, they drafted him, obviously they like him, they want to play him," Rodgers said in the podcast, predicting his eventual departure from the franchise.

Rodgers reiterated a point he's made in several interviews since the 2020 NFL Draft: that he's not angry at the Packers for making the decision.

"I'm not bitter about it. It... is what it is," said Rodgers, who added he wanted to play his entire career in Green Bay, but understands the business end of the call to draft Love.

Rodgers is under contract through 2023, although Sportrac notes a potential out after the 2021 season based on the contract's structure, meaning that Rodgers' time with the Packers could be done as soon as next year.

At age 36, Rodgers is under contract through his age 39 season, but has said in the past that he wants to play into his 40's.

Green Bay opens the 2020 NFL season at Minnesota September 13.
